Progress day by day – Naraha base / Fukushima 20km area.
I came back from Fukushima.
I got so much support, and all feeding points in the 20km area are done. Thank you so much.
Taking in the view of the Naraha landscape from the car window, I saw so much waste from decontamination in piles of black plastic bags. How much progress has been made ?
At Naraha base, I met other volunteers. Yes, plural, volunteerS. This was a big help, as we don’t have so many volunteers. A dog welcomes us at Naraha base.
A resident comes every day to take care of a dog and a cat. This dog was rescued, but is now a house dog. This kitten is new face! This resident finds dying cats, one after another. She wants to do TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) in the area she was evacuated to. TNR Japan Animal Welfare Hospital is doing this sterilization.
Big belly kitten.
I asked this resident if it is ok to take more dogs and cats. She said it is ok. Then after a while, the storage and mini-shelter became bigger, as in the photo. Cats are happily playing in this handmade playground.
We didn’t have time to play with cats, and started to load the food, washing brush, broom and water.
2 cars go to the feeding point.
