Tochigi prefecture makes an internal investigation of harassment case for suicide of a staff member in response to outside attention.

A male staff member (50) of Tochigi Animal Welfare Instruction Center committed suicide in the middle of April, according to coverage of Tochigi prefecture on the 22nd.
Responding to voices from outside the Center indicating that the cause of his suicide was power harassment, Tochigi prefecture decided to conduct an internal investigation.
Tochigi prefecture said that this man hadn’t gone to work since April 15. He was found on April 20 in a car near the riverbed in Utsunomiya city. The prefectural police consider this to have been a suicide using a briquette.
Humane associations which know this man posted a note on the internet saying he had been harassed. Also Tochigi prefecture received same comments in about 50 phone calls and e-mails before May 21. (Kyodo Tsusin / May 22, 2014)
