☆3 days cooperative rescue activity from January 30.
☆Ibaraki prefecture, collapse by over breeding of the dog.

January 30, Fri. Matatabi&Nekokatsu
January 31, Sat Inuneko Kyusainowa
February 1, Sun Sakura Mama & Inuneko Kyusainowa

The first day by Matatabi & Nekokatsu was so hard, there was so much snow.
We contacted each other again and again.
We have to set the capture cages without any accidents.
I will leave Kawasaki early on the morning of January 31, with other volunteers, in 2 cars.
In case of emergency such as accidents, we maintain contact with other volunteers.

☆Ibaraki prefecture, collapse by over breeding of the dog.

Inuneko Kyusainowa decided to rescue over bred dogs in Ibaraki,

We, Inuneko Kyusainowa, are based in Kawasaki, and due to concern about barking and space, we can’t keep many dogs.
For this reason, our activity is mainly with cats, and not many dogs.

We decided to do it this time because this dog holder hasn’t received an eviction notice yet.
This means we have a time.
This dog holder is a half-breeder, and could possibly continue breeding.
We are asking to do the sterilization, and negotiating ownership rights so that we can find foster families.
This person understands the need for sterilization, but is in a difficult financial situation.
When this person asked the animal hospital to do the sterilization at a low low price, the hospital said this is crazy.
Sterilization and vaccines would cost about 1,500,000 yen.
With such a bad situation who could possibly help?.

Irresponsible dog lovers and cat lovers always make unhappy lives for the animals.
Rash behavior, such as just giving food to stray dogs and cats, causes the reckless breeding.
Dogs are captured and killed.
Cats increase in numbers, more and more.
If you ask me, I would say animals are sacrificed for the sweet feeling of self-satisfaction..

Then puppies born to neglecting owners, who fail to find homes for them, are adopted by the Animal Welfare center. It takes in puppies, adult dogs, and older dogs.
And humane associations search, one by one, for foster families.
This is endless, and scars my heart with anger.

This time, we’ll do sterilization for all the dogs.
The owner doesn’t have money, and we have to bear 100% of the expense.
It makes my head hurt.
It pains my heart.

I know this type of person, who repeats the practice again and again.
But we can’t take care of all the stray dogs and cats in Ibaraki prefecture.
I worry about receiving phone calls and e-mails now.
To negotiate with this type of person who doesn’t understand common sense is so hard.
I hurry now to avoid the tragic births of more such victims.
The breed of dog is poodle/terrier mix .

After the negotiation is settled, we will hurry the sterilization, and find foster families.

About Us

Message from Akiko Yui, President and Founder of TNR Japan Animal Welfare Hospital
I believe that helping animals in need, existing in symbiosis with animals, and fostering a loving heart lead to an improvement in one’s character of kindness and generosity. The killing of animals due to decisions made by administration goes against my firm belief in preventing cruelty to animals. Animal Rescue Fund’s most important goal is to reduce the number of animals killed in Japan to zero by urging administration to change, reform, and improve the prevention of cruelty to animals. In order to reduce the number of animals in need, we work to raise awareness and support for the importance of sterilization operations. Each year, we spay and neuter more than 1000 stray cats. We are always putting animals up for adoption to help those lives already born in finding a loving home.

TNR Japan Animal Welfare Hospital:
We first opened our TNR Japan Animal Welfare Hospital in February of 2011 in an effort to make our dream a reality - to lower the number of dogs and cats killed in Japan to zero. At our hospital, we spay and neuter cats to reduce the number of unfortunate stray cats. Our hospital strives to help unfortunate animals in need of medical care.
The lives of numerous pets and livestock were lost as a result of the unprecedented earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan on March 11th 2011 and the radiation disaster caused by the stricken Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Animal Rescue Fund goes directly to the 20km evacuation zone around the stricken Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant to rescue animals.
Animal Rescue Fund is based in Kanagawa Prefecture’s TNR Japan Animal Welfare Hospital. Therefore, the animals that we rescue from Fukushima Prefecture are brought to TNR Japan Animal Welfare Hospital located in Kanagawa Prefecture. Here, the rescued animals receive medical care and are returned to their owners or are put up for adoption.
We also work in urging the government and administration of Japan to support the protection of animals in need.
